7424xp - Need new counter balance?

Bought the 7424xp and in browsing various sites I am seeing I should have a 5" counter balance on this tool, i looked and I have a 6" counter balance. I am using the meguiars 5" foam pads with the meguiars 5" backing plate. Is it really necessary to change counter balances?

Nope. All you need is the backing plate. I never changed the counter wait on my PC and I use a 5" backing plate and 5.5" foam pads.

The different counter balances are more for when the PC is used as a sander. Remember, that's "its" life began as...a sander.
