  • Yep brough a DA Polishing machine.

Hello , I spent many times doing previous cars by hand, and enjoyed it, learning about products and methods. Then getting a machine , which I have used on one car before, and now second time just this week, and will be doing our other car next. I sure do like the results at the end .

The DA has a very short learning curve, you will be getting pro results petty quickly. Congrats on the new purchase.

Don't you just love it. I always thought the best way was hand wax but the DA is awesome. I have used mine 3 or 4 times now. Not on my own yet, but on paying jobs, so it is all good. I call it paid practice. And it has shown results that I know I would have never gotten by hand.

Sounds good to me, thanks, and I am always amazed at how smooth the finish is, those flies slide right off.

Yeah I was one you used turtle wax years ago, and struggle to get dried wax off, days later seeing wax still on in places, I stopped doing my cars, went to drive in let them clean them, looked good the day you drived out, lasting a week maybe only, it was when I saw the worker dropped his cloth for wiping , picked it up carried on with it, I stopped going there. That was when I thought there got to be a way to get same or better results, and found Meguiars products and this forum, and now a DA machine . And now finally join here, Progress yeah.

I used to have the same issue with cats, the only problem is that when they started slipping, out came the claws

Yeah, my cats wear running shoes now for traction, and I really like the way water beads and runs off when it rains.

I love my g110v2 but after using it a handful of times can't wait to get the experience for a rotary. I would just like to have an arsenal that I can attack issues with even tho a da and mf pads can do the same but it's just nice when the situation calls for a rotary that I have the confidence to use one to get those stubborn spots out without having to spend alot of time on it. But tools are the way to go for the best results I think.

They make life so much easier. You should upgrade to a flex and get the best of both worlds. I am looking to upgrade to either a flex or rupes.

Get both! I like the Rupes on large flat panels and jobs that need a decent amount of correction. It's the lightest of the two and doesn't wear me out as soon. For curves that will stop rotation and heavy correction nothing beats the Flex. It's also great on headlights. Without the huge orbit it's easy to sand and/or polish to the edge instead of by hand as long as you take the right precautions.

Both are excellent tools and will make most every job go quite a bit faster and usually with better results than our old standby DA's. My PC is the most versatile tool in the arsenal though. From 3" sanding to 6" polishing, it still gets the job done a WHOLE lot faster than by hand.

I would but I don't do this for a living so only one would be all I need.

Power tools make paint polishing so much easier, and the end result is usually far beyond anything you can achieve by hand - especially when dealing with modern, catalyzed clear coats. And come on guys, let's face it, power tools are just cool!!
