  • DAMF 5" or 6" when using G110v2

So i bought the DAMF system in 6" but after reading some of the DAMF info posted on a recent thread it shows that only 5" is suggested for use on the G110v2. Is there going to be an ill affect on anything, i'd hate to use a nonrecommended size. It gets worse because I liked the system so much i just invested in a bunch of new 6" MF pads. My results are good. I still could use some better technique but that is user error not product. What should I do?

Seems like you can do it, but, they recommend the 5".

Re: DAMF 5" or 6" when using G110v2

The system was fine tuned to use the 5" discs on a DA at 4800 opm and 3800 opm for cutting and finishing. That is specifically speeds 4 and 3, respectively, on the G110v2. We put a lot of development into this system and these settings, so we highly recommend using it this way. While you can use the 6" discs on a DA you will see reduced cut, which sort of defeats the purpose of the system. The 6" discs were developed so that users of larger format tools, like the Flex 3401 and others with semi-fixed backing plates can still use the system.

Thanks guys, looks like i will need to invest in the 5", hopefully I can return the 6" pads i have if unused. I didn't notice any notes on the online retailers sight mentioning this. A little sad, but maybe i can find someone to pick up the 6" stuff from me. If not than I will have some nice microfiber frisbees for my daughter to play with.

I recently purchased the 6" system but just found that I should have got the 5", if there is anyone willing to trade pads / backing plates (new, unused) please contact me.

Why not purchase a smaller backing plate and trim the larger pads to fit ?
