Can I use the Orange Lake Country Cutting pad on a Megs G110V1

As the title implies, Can I use the below Orange 5 1/2" Lake Country Cutting Flat Pad on a Meguiars G110V1 safely? The White polishing pad says it has "Light" Cutting Capabilities. SO I wanted to know if others have used the orange one safely. I will be applying either Ultimate Compound or M105 with the pad. If not, please recommend which Lake country pads to get (type and color).

I also see the CSS pads say for DAs, but I still dont know if I can use orange cutting pads

You can use any type of pad so long as the pad is bigger than the backing plate. For example, if you're using a 5.5" pad then you need a 5" BP.

This is true for any D/A polisher.

The Orange works well with UC and M205. The white also works well with M205, depending on how the finish is.. I have a 6.5 CSS green finishing pad, I didn't like it using my PC.

Any of the LC or other brand pads designed for use on a DA can be used on any DA tool on the market - Meguiar's (any version), Porter Cable (any version) and Griot's Garage, among others. The important thing is to match the proper backing plate with the pad. Any backing plate that will fit the Meguiar's buffer will fit any of the other traditional DA buffers on the market, too, so that's not a problem. But if the pad manufacturer recommends their backing plate with their pads, then you should follow that suggestion to ensure that you've got properly synchronized hook & loop material between the pad and plate.

Awesome!! I knew the Crimson Megs cutting pad couldnt be used on a DA, but was unsure about the LC pads, thanks a million!

With our W8006 and W9006 foam pads it's fine, but if you're going to use our microfiber discs we highly recommend our W67DA backing plate to ensure proper hook & loop synchronization. The microfiber discs are used much more aggressively than foam pads are, and that creates a heck of a lot more stress on the hook & loop attachment system, which in turn generates very high heat levels when the hook & loop materials are mismatched.

Thanks for posting that question. I just got my first DA on friday. It's the megs g110v1 but it'll do for now. It came with the yellow, orange, blue and 3 white LC pads. I had to research them to find out what brand they were. But this helped save me some time. At least I know I can start using these pads now and use them with UC.
