  • Very Excited About the MF System

Received my cutting pads and liquid today. Planning on using them soon and I am very stoked. IF they live up to what I have seen, I think I will be very happy!

I did not order the finishing wax or pads, as I plan to finish with foam and 205. However, I might just purchase them in the future to use for lighter polishing and one steps on a customer car.

Very excited and pretty anxious as well!

Just remember to clean that pad with a brush or compressed air after every single section you buff. And don't forget to fully prime the pad first and then really hold back on the amount of product you use for each section. 3 to 4 pea sized drops is all it takes, so don't go overboard or you'll actually start to compromise your results. Lots of pressure, slow arm movements, 4800 opm for cutting.

Thanks, Mike. Great tips. I only bought two pads, probably should have bought more, however the plan is to get about half of the car done tomorrow night, clean pads, and start new on Friday. I have the GG6 polisher wth a 5 inch LC backing plate. I know the Meg's plate is optimal, but this is what I have. Any issues you think, or will this do for a one time solution?

      Thanks,

Anyone have any thoughts here? Sorry to be a pain, but if I need to order pads, I need to order them like..now!

          I have a thought...

I can't wait to get mine too! Will be here tomorrow! Except I'll be gone all weekend so have to wait till next week.

I would think it wouldn't be a problem finishing with M205 and a foam pad. What foam pads to you have now?

You only got two pads..... meaning two of the microfiber cutting pads? You should easily be able to do the entire car with just two of those. I believe the GG backing plate is a micro hook design so you should be fine.

Re: Very Excited About the MF System

Thanks for the help. I picked up two more. I did 3/4 of the car using two. I switched early, I am sure, but I wanted to be cautious. All I can say is wow. Rock hard VW paint that even UC and an orange LC wouldnt really touch. The MF pads removed the defects like nothing. A couple spots needed another run at it, but that was all. I have all four doors and the roof to do tomorrow, but even taking my time it should not be bad.

Used my swirl finder light to examine after each panel. What a great finish D300 leaves. Granted I have hard paint, but I think my final polish with 205 tomorrow should bring even more "wow" to the car. Thinking of 845 IW or #20 as my LSP.

This is a game changer for sure. I think I'll pick up the finishing wax and disks in the future. Should be a good one step for some cars I do, and a nice twice a year thing on my own car. No issues with the backing plate and pads. Cleaned often with a brush. This is truly a joy to work with. Props to Meguiars.

BlueZero...I am going to final polish with 205 and either a white LC pad or a slightly more aggressive green pad. My paint is HARD, so to really get it LSP ready, I think I will go with the green. You'll love the system. It's amazing and really user friendly.
