  • backing plate and pad question

ok i got a backing plate that came with my pc. The backing plate is 6" so should I use the 8" buffing pads? or should I go ahead and buy the meguiars backing plate? or will the 6" pads be fine with this plate?

    thanks

Buy the Meg's backing plate AND pads.... it uses a velcro system. The stock plate is worthless.

well this one is velcro also i just didn't know if the bigger pad would be better since this one is 6in and not 5 like the meguiars

I like the pad to be a little larger than the backing plate. If for some reason you bump some painted portion of the car with the edge of the pad there is plenty of padding there to protect the paint or anything else.

Just my preference. I wouldn't imagine it would change the way the pad functioned.
