  • G110V2 stop rotation

I got Meguiars G110v2 DA and used for detailing my car. I noticed that at speed 1-3 it spins off the surface and when i applied it to the surface the spin has been decreased (almost no spin) unless I put zero pressure. Is that normal or it works per design. Please advice.

    Thanks to all

At speed 1, which is almost never used, you're going to be able to stop the rotation pretty easily. At speed 3 you can and will slow the rotation quite noticeably under moderate pressure, but at speed 3 you're generally finessing things a bit more with a finishing polish, or applying wax, so not much pressure is used in conjunction with that speed. Still, it should take some moderate pressure and continue to rotate. Above that, at speeds 4 and definitely at speed 5, you should be able to put a lot of pressure down on a G110v2 and still keep the pad spinning. But the pad must be flat to the paint - tipping it up on edge a bit will stop rotation pretty quickly. That's part of what makes any DA buffer so safe to use, but also why buffing technique is critical to achieving excellent results.

Thanks Mike, I'll do another test on the weekend and I'll let you know.

I did the test and i was able to mange pad stop rotation by moving the DA with light pressure at speed 2 & 3. Higher speed was OK.

        Thanks for your advice.
