  • is this paint neglected????

    [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

im not good at resizing pictures, so i apologize for that. this is my sons 98 explorer. he bought it a few months ago and after saving his pennies, we were able to get some of the mechanicals fixed to get it road worthy.. NOW he wants me to make it purdy( after having it sit in the driveway for a few months). the front of the door was after 1 pass with 105 with an orange pad.this things finish was seriously neglected ( is it noticeable???). the clearcoat is failing on the hood and roof. theres only so much i can do, but it'll look better until we get it back in the shop in a few months for some bodywork and new paint. i'm not a pro, but i get about 15 cars a year to detail and this is by far the worst one i have seen. the interior was terribly trashed. i took out the seats and carpet as there was some nasty, gooey, gummy **** ( spilled sodas?) all down the sides of the seats and, well, it was nasty. you wouldnt want to see the before pics, but i'll get some after pics of that, too. man, i love megs products and so do the folks that own the cars i detail for!
ok..breaktimes over. gotta few more hours left in me tonight.

ended up switchin to a rotary, wool pad and m105 for the 1st pass. m105, orange pad and pc7424 for 2nd, 205 and orange pad for 3rd, then glaze[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

this ought to keep it protects til it comes in for the paint job.

Quite the transformation! It almost looks weird to see all that high gloss, beautiful paint juxtaposed with the rust - not something you see every day!
