I think this link is for the G110, which was discontinued and replaced by the G110v2?

I waited a long time for the G110v2 to be on the market again. once ADS had them in stock I ordered one with a bunch of pads I'm glad I waited because it is a very nice DA.

That could be! I didn't notice it didn't have the v2 on it... I was just searching for it to see if it was back in stock I'm waiting for it!

I guess I am not supposed to get DA polisher. After waiting a couple months on the G110v2 to get off backorder, I broke down and ordered the Griots last week because they were on special at AutoGeek. Today I get a note back that the Griots is now on backorder as well.

wow I'm glad I picked up my GG6.....GG had a promo (15%discount & free shipping) a few weeks ago, maybe a lot of people ordered as well, therefore the shortage?

I'm now eyeing the 12 pk Megs 7" pads & Megs backing plate from ADS...........I already have six 6" GG pads (3 orange & 3 red).....do I really need to buy more?

My GG6 shipped last night and should arrive on Monday. Not as long a backorder delay as they had estimated, but now I have to spend the weekend looking a a big pile of new Megs pads, backing plates, and products with nothing to use them with. Oh well, better late than never, plus I guess I can get my garage organized.

In a conversation i had with meguiars sales guy on phone last week they are not expecting to have any G110V2 dual action polishers IN STOCK for 3--5 months....just in time for next spring !
I have one and need to get it fixed, forget it, they do not repair them. !!

My GG6 arrived early so I got to play a little on Saturday. Since I have never used a DA before, I decided to practice on the hood of my wife's white van. It was in pretty good shape, but had a lot of small scratches and swirls. You had to have the sun in just the right angle to really see them, but my mini Tac light did good on very small areas at a time. Since I was only doing the hood, I cleaned it with Ultima Waterless Wash, then Meg's clay and Quick Detailer.

I put the Meg's W68DA backing plate on the GG6 and used a yellow Softbuff 2.0 pad with Ultimate Compound for my test section. I tried to remember everything I read and saw on here so I divided the hood into 8 small sections, went slow, did 6-8 section passes on speed 5, and cleaned the pad every few sections. (It was really hard to see the product on the white surface, so I kind of guessed on how it was going.) I feel like I got out about 90% of defects, which was my goal, so I finished the hood. Next, I went to a fresh yellow pad with Ultimate Polish and used the same process. The results were about 95+% removal, which was better than I had hoped to get on my first try. Last step was a black Softbuff 2.0 pad and Ultimate Polish, followed with a final wipe with Ultimate Quick Wax.

Overall, I got much better results than I expected but could not get any pictures (sorry). Next weekend I hope to do my black car and will try to get pictures.

If I did anything wrong, or out of order, or if anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

I found out that I could achieve same results using Microfiber System just using D300 and D301. That cuts the time in 1/2 or more.
