  • 3 inch backing plate for the G110v2 for wax removal

Just took delivery and am looking for recommendations for a backing plate and 4 "MF bonnets.

I'm going to be waxing my wifes SUV and would rather not remove the wax by hand.

You would put the bonnet over a cutting or polishing pad, if that is what you mean. So The backing plate would be the same as for the pad.

      Gotcha!

      Looking for 'recommendations'.

Would any backing plate work with the G110v2?

Reason I posted was because I was told it would be better to use a 4" MF bonnet then trying to remove the wax with a bonnet that fit over the 7" pad.

I'm not sure why a 4" bonnet and pad would be better than the 7" if that's your question?? I have always used the 7" pad/bonnet and it works great.....even though I personally like removing the wax by hand. Bigger is better.....
Also, when your MF bonnet gets clogged with wax, just turn it inside out and use the other side....saves bonnets.

It would seem that using a bonnet wrapped over a 4" pad for removing wax would be far less convenient than using a 6" to 7" bonnet wrapped pad for that purpose. We're also a bit concerned about the aggressiveness of such a small pad on a DA for this purpose; you're bound to remove more of the wax than you really want to this way, leaving very little protection behind.

But assuming you're applying wax with a DA to start with, that tool should allow you to lay down a very thin and uniform coat of wax/sealant which would subsequently be very easy to remove by hand.

            Thanks for the replies guys.

The 4" pad was actually a recommendation from the home office.

Now to search for MF bonnets to fit the over the W7207
