  • Wrong Pads!! Whats next?

I purchased a DA/Polisher with a 7 inch backing plate. I ordered two of meguiars foam pads...7" Yellow foam Pollishing pad W8207B and 7" Black Foam finishing pad W9207B. The pads did not fit the DA. I wanted to go ahead and order the right pads this time. I was going to replace with the Meguiars 8" Yellow Foam Polishing Pad W8000 8" Tan Foam Finishing Pad W9000.Are these similiar to the other but bigger. Also I noticed on another thread about product, pad, and speed and what pads to use.... but the new pads are not listed on there. Should I keep the pads I have and order I different backing plate?

    Hi
Looks like your backing plate selection is to big for a DA. The Soft Buff 2.0 (W8207) needs a 6in backing plate not 7in. DA's preform better with smaller pads. If you already have the W8207 pads simply purchase the 6in backing plate that goes with those pads.

Which DA did you purchase, and which backing plate? You don't really want to use the W8000 and W9000 pads on a DA as they're too large overall. Stick with our W8207/W9207 pads but get a W68DA backing plate as it's specifically made for use with those pads.
