  • Here is what I have accomplished so far

    In the beginning
    http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...m/BEFORE48.jpg

After my first work on this new Nissan black Murano

Not bad for a beginner, still some swirls but I also instilled some pigtails on my section after doing a test spot that did not create any pigtails

Here are some pics prior to my second attempt

    Sectioned off for work

After wash ,clay, Ultimate Compound on 5, wipe, Ultimate Polish on 4 , Ultimate Liquid Wax on 3, I let it dry for several hours,

I have these trails or tracks , almost looks like a pair of blue jeans sat on the hood, is this from waiting too long to wipe off the wax ?

I am continually improving the paint on my new car with Meguiar's products and all the excellent advice and examples here on the forum.

The other thing I notice is that using the above steps and Ultimate Quick Wax and Ultimate Quick Detailer periodically , everything seems to constantly smear like this,

It is like I can not get it to wipe clean. Using Meguiar's microfiber cloths , I still battle these smears, if I work harder with new dry cloths , they will instill new scratches. Any advice ?

I am gradually improving the paint considering the condition it was in from the dealer, thanks to all you guys and Meguiars, I know I need improvement on my technique and more time on my DA,
The car looks good by most standards , but now you guys have me inspecting every swirl and smudge , any advice would be appreciated and thanks for the help as I try to salvage a new vehicle from the awful state it was delivered, unfortunately , I did not know better at the time I took delivery.

It is the hottest time of year here in the Southeast, not as humid as Florida , but very hot , could that have anything to do with all the smearing ?

    Thanks for any advice

I've had issues with NXT 2.0 smearing due to humidity here in South Florida - if I start waxing after sundown, it's a lost cause. Did you do the "swipe test" before you started removing the wax?

Yes, I did the swipe test after waxing , I had left the wax dry for about 12 hours overnite though, I gotta believe it is just a bit too hot and humid in my garage right now and the spray applications of detailer and spray wax just stay moist and smear. I keep workin on it , thanks

Have you tried using a "paste" wax? What about Gold Class Carnauba Wax(liquid). . . .
