  • If my UC or UP dry out while polishing ?

Everything I've read tells me that Ultimate compound and Ultimate Polish should not be allowed to dry while applying with the DA polisher.
I am relatively new to my Megs DA and after getting thru some initial learning curves, find that I have difficulty determining if it is too dry/wet and If I have worked too long. What would be the signs of the UC or UP was worked a little too long and was drying before I stopped ?
Often it looks like it is dry while making passes, swipe no mark, however, when I stop there is a large mass of wet material indicating the pad is still saturated .
Any comments or suggestions appreciated, I realize it is something I will have to judge for myself. It is just the most difficult area for me right now

Both of those products should have a long working time, especially the Ultimate Polish. Usually 4 -5 passes or you start to see the product is getting very thin and then wipe off to inspect your work, re-apply more product if needed. You will need to clean your pad off on the fly or use a clean pad after a section or two to prevent build-up on the pad. UP has a lot of polishing oils in it plus it has an incredibly long work time, so drying is not usually too much of a problem. But test swipes will tell you that.
