  • 750w inverter for G110v2?

    Hi,

sorry for another post but I live in apartment and I don't have power for G110v2. Is 750watts is the correct watt for G110v2?

If so, what is the best one out it the market?

    Thanks

The car's battery may not be able to handle this wattage consumption for a long time.

    G110v2 takes about 4.2 amps times 110 volts = 462 watts, that's a serious drainage.

      so 500watts is enough?

No 500 watt will not do. You also have Peak amperage and when you apply pressure to the GV amperage will go up. I would say that 1000 watt unit should do. Now for your car battery? do you plan on running your car constantly? You might need a second battery set up same way as in RV's so you dont kill your primary battery.

i dunno... i was thinking about buying a cordless one, but it lacks power.
if i buy inverter, i am worried about my car battery...
i have no idea what should i do haha
maybe i will just give up and work with my hands

Do you live in a highrise? Or just a small apartment? Exstention card comes to my mind as the easy way on this one but it depends on your building I guess.

maybe extension cable might work. thanks
by the way, do I need different backing plate for 6.5" buffer pad?

also, is the W9006 foam finish pad is the same as W9207 2.0 foam finish pad?

The only way to continuously deliver that kind of power through your car battery would be to keep it running the whole time.

                1. This would be a total waste of gas (especially with gas prices at this time)

                2. The life of your battery would be severely diminished. It's not made to handle that kind of power over those periods of time.

I like the extension cord idea from THE BIG BUFFER. I was living in the 2nd floor of an apartment once and just ran one out the window and down to the car. Check your lease agreement to make sure you're not violating the contract.

Extension cord plugged to 110V outlet is the best way to power G110v2.

W67DA backing plate is designed to go with 6.5" buffing pads.
W9006 finishing pad is tan/ beige and W9207 finishing pad is black: it has recessed backing and can be machine washed.

If you use Extension cord make sure its 12 gauge wire or you will have a big voltage drop with anything smaller and keep it as short as possible.

I bought the Black & Decker Inverter for like 60 bucks and it will power my PC DA buffer just fine. It is the 750 watt unit and I buff till the inverter turns itself off. Then I wait maybe a minute, and start the engine on the car, and let the battery charge for maybe 15 minutes, and then do it over again. The Inverter is "Smart" and will power off with enough juice in the battery to start the car and will not totally kill the battery. (never did it to me yet on any of my friends cars) I really, really, like my inverter. 4.2amps x 120v = 504 Watts. That's well below the 750 Watt capacity of the inverter, so you (like me) should be just fine. P.S. I Got mine at Lowes......

How long were you able to keep the polisher running before you had to shut off?

As I understand it, a typical automobile battery is around 80 to 100 Amp hours so that translates to 960 to 1200 Watt hrs. If you look up say a 500 watt device and include inverter insertion loss (another 5%), you may be able to run it barely 2 hrs.

You should use a deep cycle battery since typical car batteries do not like to be discharged too far.

How long depends on the load you have on the buffer, and it's speed setting. However, I was buffing for about 45 minutes with each cycle... :>)
