Re: Michael Stoops, Whats the hold up?
Mine has the cable issue but intermittently. It's only 6 mths old and gets a lot use. I want and will be getting a V2 as a replacement. Here in the UK we will be getting the V2's in May. I hope mine lasts till then.

Re: Michael Stoops, Whats the hold up?
I bought my G110 almost three years ago. Given that I only have two vehicles to maintain, I have not used it that much. It has broken down twice one me. Meguiar's has replaced it both times, no questions asked. But if it breaks down on me a third time, I'm going with the Griot's.

Re: Michael Stoops, Whats the hold up?
The feature, which I really like in G110v2, is the cruise control.
That's what made me choose Meguiar's DA over Griot's and Porter Cable.
Hopefully the tool will be back on the market shortly.

Screw it. Go buy a Griots and don't look back.

Porter Cable is a tools manufacturer and does not compete with Meguiar's.

I'm not sure about anything and I really am not one to start rumors...
Here are my thoughts...
I met Michael Stoops at Barrett-Jackson. (IMO He is good peeps by the way)
He was demonstrating Megs Ultimate Trio on a rent-a-racer using a PC7424xp.
Yes, I saw a few Megs customers purchase PC's at the Megs show display.
The g110v2 has a temporary production hang up and they are back ordered.
I believe Megs was selling the PC as a "customer convenience" at the show.
It was not re-branded. It did not have a Megs sticker on the box or the tool.
Porter Cable is a tools manufacturer and does not compete with Meguiar's.
I have a saying "10 percent of something is better than 100 percent of zero."
Folks left the Megs display with Megs products and a tool to get the job done.
They will go home, try it out on their vehicle and be happy with their purchase.

Re: Michael Stoops, Whats the hold up?
Mike,
There's a thread over on Autogeek's forum where Mike Phillips states he saw brand new Porter Cable 7424XPs on display at the Meguiar's booth at Barrett-Jackson last weekend. Any chance that means a Meguiar's branded PCXP is on the horizon either to replace the G110v2 or as a stop-gap while waiting for production of the other tool to resume?

Re: Michael Stoops, Whats the hold up?
While we really do understand your frustration (you guys want to buy these tools and we'd love to be selling them to you!) all we can really tell you at this time is that we're dealing with some issues completely unrelated to quality or design. Obviously that leaves the manufacturing stream as the culprit - and that encompasses a surprisingly broad mix of areas to contend with, some of which become even more complex due to geo-political ramifications.
Honestly, we're not trying to side step the issue or put up a smoke screen, it's just that there are certain aspects of this that we just aren't at liberty to discuss. Yes, we understand that we're losing sales because of this; that's just a given as it's impossible to sell what we don't have. And we very much appreciate those of you who are being patient and holding off purchasing a tool until the G110v2 is back in stock. We promise, as soon as we have word that tools are on the way to our distribution center, we'll let you know.

Re: Michael Stoops, Whats the hold up?
I've been reading these threads and decided to buy a Flex.
Once you hit 50 years of age, avoiding long wait times becomes more of a priority.
Maybe Barry can go to the factory in China and video an episode of Car Crazy.

Maybe well get something like:
Hey guys, sorry about the whole g110v2 deal.... bob in ordering is new and he put down 20 units, when we were supposed to put down 20 cases. Were working on it.

Michael Stoops, Whats the hold up?
Whats the hold up on the re-release of the g110v2? Keep waiting and waiting and waiting, and It keeps getting pushed back. No one from Meguiar's seams to want to address this (this meaning the sudden change of date.... again) in the "When is the g110v2 comming back" thread so figured I'd address this question directly to you so everyone can see.
1. Any one there have a realistic idea of when it will be back in stock?
2. Why the long wait.
Sorry to sound b!tchy, I just got into detailing, and I really wanna work with the g110v2, plus not having it in stock is tying up 1/2 my order!Tags: None
