  • DA G110/ Backing plate W-670A

I just bought the DA 110 that came with a 5in. (W670A) backing plate. I ordered some Soft Buff Pads 2.0 yellow (W8207) and Soft Buff Pad 2.0 black(W9207). Will these pads work with my 5in. backing plate or do I need to order a larger backing plate?

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online.

You need W68DA (5.75") backing plate with 7" Soft Buff 2.0 foam pads.

The W67DA backing plate will work with the 2.0 pads, but the W68DA would work better because the W68DA was specifically designed for use with the 2.0 pads as it is a larger backing plate that will give more support across the face of the pad when polishing against the paint. With the W67DA there will be more of the pad overhanging the edge of the backing plate unsupported and you will not be utilizing the full surface of the pad efficiently.

Thanks guys, I will order a W68DA backing plate. This is my first time using a DA polisher, so I want to make sure I do it right! I Can't believe I've been hand waxing for the past 20 years!

I never used a "machine" on my cars until 5 years ago...I was well over 30 years doing cars by hand...I figure the DA extended my life expectancy at least another 10 years
