  • PC Backing Plate and Pads

Question, I bought a PC kit that includes 5 inch backing plate but 6.5 lake country pads!!! Are the pads too big to use with the backing plate that comes with it???? If so, thats pretty misleading to sell that package together.

should work fine, I have a 4 7/8 backing plate, should work fine, you want a little give on edges for curves and what not. I use a bigger plate that fit better with pads for flat surfaces, like the hood or sides of the Yukon.

You need 5.5 pads. Not 6.5.

Actually Lake Country recommends to use 5" backing plate with 5.5" and 6.5" pads, and 6" backing plate with their 7" pads (Kompressor).

Yes Greg you are correct, i did some further research and they do recommend 6.5" pads so it gives you space for your backing plate hitting things.
