No - Flex uses a proprietary backing plate system for the 3401 so a "traditional" D/A backing plate won't work on it. They did recently introduce a smaller backing plate that is being referred to as a 4" plate, but it measures more like 4-3/8" and is designed for use with 5.5" pads.

If by Flex D/A you mean model XC 3401 VRG then the answer is no. You need to use the special backing plates and S3BP doesn't fit.

There are only two backing plates which fit into 3401: 5.5" and 4 3/8":

The largest 6" MF disks are recommended for your Flex.

I don't remember correct speed settings for D300 and D301 with 3401 but I'll get back to you after I check it out.

Re: Is it possible to use 4'' Pads on my Flex D/A?

Meguiar's recommends the following speed settings:

            D300 - 4,800 opm,
            D301 - 3,800 opm.

            Here are Flex 3401 settings:

            Setting 1 - 160 rpm (3,200 opm),
            Setting 2 - 200 rpm (4,000 opm),
            Setting 3 - 270 rpm (5,600 opm),
            Setting 4 - 330 rpm (6,600 opm),
            Setting 5 - 400 rpm (8,000 opm),
            Setting 6 - 480 rpm (9,600 opm).

So it looks that D300 needs speed setting 2.5 and D301 speed setting 2.
Flex 3401 is much more powerful than all other DAs due to its forced rotation.
