  • 1st Timer with D/A, what product do I use? and Pads?

    ok I'm about to buy the D/A v2.

    I've only used these 3 products by Hand !
    (all Meguiars Products)

    1. Clay
    2. ColorX
    3. NXT 2.0

    Now with the D/A v2, what are similiar products I can use
    that is the same as above? The problem is, all winter I've used
    the machine car wash and it did a tremendous Scratch/Swirl marked
    on my 2005 Dark Purple Toyota Camry. (soft paint)

    Here is what I'm going to do when I get the D/A.

    1. Clay by hand.

    2. is there a product like ColorX that cleans and
    "cuts" very gently to get rid of the Scratch/Swirl marks
    at the same time. A "2 in One" Meguiars product?

    What pad for this step? (Yellow?)

    The only thing I can remember from a couple years ago
    when using a D/A is M#83 then M#81.

    I know I'm out dated, but what are some Newer more advance
    Meguiars products out there for my 2nd step?

    3. Sealant -NXT 2.0, using the softest Black Pad.

    I have not kept up to date on the lastest and greates invention
    from Meguiars, sooo please be easy on me

    Thank you

    Well, you can use ColorX and Nxt.

    But yeah, SwirlX or Ultimate Compound would be the stronger products for defect removal.

      thank for the response.

      so for my 2nd step, I can use SwirlX and Ultimate compound with a "yellow" cutting pad?

      which is easier to use? since I'm a newb at D/A.

      and which is more aggressive?

      do I have to wait for these products to dry?

        1. Use either SwirlX or Ultimate Compound - start with a test spot with SwirlX first;
        2. Yes, a yellow Meguiars pad would be the most appropriate;
        3. UC is more aggressive than SwirlX. There's also ScratchX which sits in between the two as far as aggressiveness;
        4. No need to wait for polishes/paint cleaners to dry. Only waxes/sealants need to be allowed to cure or dry.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
