  • what should i need?

Hi Guyz..I'm gonna buy a D/A..finally saved enough money..
what i want to ask is, how many pad should i buy??what type??coz i got confused with so many type of pad available..SoLo,softbuff,etc..
I think I'm gonna use D/A with wax,and defects removal..usually people apply pure polish with hand rite??

    thx..

    Re: what should i need?

I would get 6 5.5" inch pads. The Softbuff 2.0 pads are great but I find them a but cumbersome to use on some panels because of their 7" size. The 5.5" are much easier to use IMHO.

6 Lake Country pads should constitute: 1 orange, 3 white, 2 black

6 Meguiars pads should constitute: 4 yellow, 2 black

btw, i'm still confused whether PC 7424XP or G110v2..any suggestion??

      i'm a little bit confused bout the colour..coz there's burgundy,black,orange,etc..

Don't forget you'll need a DA backing plate that matches your selected pad size. I think the assortment of pads Shawn suggested, for the 2 manufacturer's lines mentioned sound appropriate. First, the LC line with a light cutting pad, 3 polishing and 2 waxing/glazing, and Meg's, with 4 polishing (will easily handle UC or equivalent) and 2 finishing/glazing pads, omitting the cutting pad, not really recommended for the DA polisher anyway, IIRC. The size recommendation is right on too! I learned this last weekend on my first DA use, finding the SoftBuff yellow in 7" to be a bit much for the 7424XP as the pad loads up with product, in this case UC. Wish I had done just a bit more reading on this excellent forum b4 pulling the trigger, but was anxious to get started! Live and learn!

i dont know anything about the LC pads so i dont know about orange and all those other colors...but i do know meguiars softbuff pads consist of yellow polishing, black finishing, and burgandy cutting...

burgandy cutting isnt recommended...i would get 4 polishing for defect removal and 2 finishing for waxing. you can also apply pure polish with the finishing pad.

i dont have either the g110v2 nor the PC but i do have the griots...i would recommend it to anyone

if your talking about pads on a g110, the color pads are for different purposes, the burgundy has the most cut. the yellow pad is medium cut and the black is just a finishing pad. most likely you will just be using the yellow pad for corrections and the black pad for waxes. so if your on a tight budget those would be the 2 u get. i'm sure others will come on here and let you know about the lake country pads or correct any info you need

              DC2,

I've just ordered a GG6 kit. Are you using a special backing plate for the Meguiar's pads or does the back plate that come withe the GG6 will do? I am new at this game. Thanks for the help.

Ask the retailer if they would be willing to substitute the cutting pads for polishing pads. You're better off having 4 polishing and 2 finishing pads than 3 of each.

                      here dude ,

its the meguiars polisher, it comes with 6 pads ( your choice ) and its on sale.

I would get 3 polishing and 3 finishing

doesn't matter..i've found one..i bought it secondhand but the owner said that he rarely use it..i've got 1 polishing and 1 finishing pad though..
