PC DA Operating Temperature?

Hi All,

So I've only used my new PC DA polisher a few times but have noticed that it seems to get really hot after only 20 or so minutes of use. Not the temp of the pads but of the motor inside the polisher. Is this normal?

i have the gg6 and ive used it over 4 hours without it getting hot like u said

If the housing burns your hand to touch it, that may be a problem. If it does not, then it is simply "warm".

Yea, I cant hold the motor housing for more than a second once it's hot.

I can hold the base and also the part that attaches to the backing plate tho...

Perhaps a call to porter-cable customer service is in order. I really don't recall how high temp my unit gets, but I've never noticed it in the first place. The fact that you've noticed it and it's hot enough to where you cannot touch more than one second is a good sign you may have something odd going on. Of course, if your hand is primarily BLOCKING the vents that could explain everything!
