I was looking at Griot's Garage 3" mini buffer, it looks like it would be good for headlight restoration because of its size. But is it powerful enough? Does anyone have one of these and can you tell me about it?

Re: Griot's Garage 3" mini buffer
The Griot's Garage 3" buffer would be an excellent tool for headlight correction. I have one and like it for glass correction and doing paint correction on curved panels. I have a Porter Cable XP7424 for larger work.

Re: Griot's Garage 3" mini buffer
I have a 3" backing plate for my G110v2 also but find it just a little bulky at times and was wondering if the Griot's 3" mini would be powerful enough.
Does the 3" mini have variable speed or just one and does it bog down any?

Re: Griot's Garage 3" mini buffer
The GG 3" has a variable speed control dial on the back of the unit. Speed settings range of 1 to 6 with a setting halfway between. (so settings of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, etc). I have not used this tool extensively. I have a Porter Cable XP7424 for larger jobs. I have never bogged down the GG 3", I cannot say the same about the Porter Cable.....

Use a smaller backing plate with the DA and 4" pads.
