  • Number of pads

Just was curious how many pads you guys have on hand. I currently have 3 polishing and 2 finishing on hand, but ordered 4 more polishing and 8 more finishing pads last night. All in 6.5" diameter. I will try this setup and see if I have enough or might order a few more.

    Re: Number of pads

All depends what you are working on. For one car, or at least one car at a time, that is plenty. For a business, probably need more.

You can wax, or pure polish a car with one pad per product.

But for cleaning, it depends. For heavy defect removal, you may want to switch to clean pads 1/2 or 1/3, etc of the way through.

For just a light cleaning, one would still be ok, though you may like a fresh pad anyway.

Usually you can apply wax/sealant with 1-2 pads. Using a clean pad for each layer.

For defect removal, I try to switch pads at least every 1/4 of the vehicle. Sometimes if the defects are especially bad. More often then that.
