Fire Engine Diamond plate G110

alright, Well I purchased the g110V2 off of amazon about a week ago and ordered the W9207, However, in the past for our diamond plate (this is what diamond plate looks like incase you didn't know ) we have used the blue magic, just painted it on with a small pain brush, let it dry and then put a piece of thick carpet (about a 4x4 square) and then attach it to a sander and then, use the sander and carpet to clean it up it seems to work pretty well, however I bought the G110v2 and wondered if there might be something comparable for an attachment to the G110 or if you guys have any better ideas for polishing up something like this:

I've heard of some folks doing it this way, never seen it done though.
When I polish up my diamond plating, I use Meg's M&A polish with Mother's Powerball. I love the results and it's a heck of a lot better doing it all by hand!

This is what I've been able to achieve, it was pretty dull to begin with but it shined up nicely with the Powerball....

Never tried using my G110v1 on it, I'm not sure if the spinning action would be sufficient enough.

It looks like your dp is looking decent to begin with. Do you also detail the rest of your apparatus?

ya, those aren't my pictures just throwing up pics to get an idea of the type of diamond plate, my rig is always pretty clean and detailed, but I just bought the g110 to make waxing easier and better.... I went to a detailing shop and spent like 60 bucks on wax that they recommended. I doubt that the So1o and Cut n Shine wool pads would work well with a DA polisher since it was developed for the rotary. Spinning action would definitely be your friend when it comes to diamond plates. I feel that the G110 may under perform, but then again I haven't tried cause I'm not messing up my pads! As far as I know there is no wool pads out in the market for any DA, except maybe for the Flex since it uses forced rotation.
What kind of sander do you have? You might be able to order a backing plate and use the wool pads you mentioned above.
I love my Powerball, it's probably my most favorite non Meg's tool. it definitely cuts the polishing time by way more then half vs going at it by hand.....my fingers agree too! The Powerball is very durable, I've done two ambulances already with it and there's hardly any tearing, just use some caution around sharp areas and edges. One other word of caution, if your doing it with a cordless drill, it'll zap the battery like nothing else so either use a really good cordless, stock up on batteries, or use a corded drill.

Meg's 4" polishing(yellow) pads with your v2 and metal polish will work. You will need a smaller backing plate to fit the pad. Tight inside corners will still have to be done by hand though.

Skip the foam and go wool. Yes wool pad on a DA just like the person under this airplane is doing on a little something we polished last year.

I have never tried that one for alum. polishing but I'm certain it will greatly out perform foam on alum. The pads I am using I had custom made for alum. polishing. Are you near So Cal?
