For a while some of the Auto Zones had a expanded Meguiar's section. About 4 month's ago my local store went back to a normal section. You could try a local auto parts store by you.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Megs warehouse is in TN and if you order it, you should have it by the next day (assuming they ship out of there). Call customer service and ask. Maybe they can direct you to some nearby Megs authorized dealers as well.

I've heard that Lowes might carry the PC7424's. I checked online and didn't see it though.

            Why not just buy online?

My Lowe's carries PC7636XP (or something like that) for $129.00. I heard it is the same thing as the PC7424XP with different buffing pad included.

honestly, because i am skeptical on if i will receive the results i am looking for, and i would hate to pay $200+ for something that doesnt meet my expectation and cant return it.

If you purchase a name brand, like Porter-Cable or Mequiar's you shouldn't have any problem purchasing from a reputable on-line dealer.

Check out this thread for such a discussion of vendors:

If you like purchasing from brick and mortar stores, either grab your phone book or Google Auto Parts Stores, Auto Paint/Body Stores and/or check Construction Tool Stores. Call them or if you like the driving go visit them. If they've had something sitting on the shelves for awhile they wish to move the tool at a reduced price. Something you must do face to face. Buying an older tool may get you a better deal, but you may miss out on some of the new features.

Check the Porter-Cable web site and put polisher in their search box and you will see the different versions of the polishers you'll be looking for.

Meguiar's makes a better version of the Porter-Cable and other companies make other variations too.

The Lowe's and Home Depot may also have what you are looking for. I've also see automotive audio/video/security stores having some detailing supplies and tools on their shelves. Although their expertise maybe limited.

Take your time in your search and visit here and search the forum for many discussions of polishers. Your purchase will last you for years.

                  Good luck.

ok, i have very bad water spot on a black car in both the paint and the glass... they seem to be deep... so my question is are the DA just as good as cutting down as rotary... because i am trying to skip the trail and error... and just get it back shinning.

                      For DA go with:

                      1. Meguiar's
                      2. Porter Cable
                      3. Griot's
