  • Newbie to the DA

I am new to using the DA and having a bit of trouble starting off. I was using a polishing pad with UC, moving in a left to right motion and then up to down as I have seen in many videos. I made these passes about 5 times each and then tried wiping off the product. The UC area was difficult to wipe off. Could this be because I overworked or underworked the product?

Likely you are overworking the product. It depends on your arm speed, the speed you have the polisher set at, the temperature and perhaps the amount of pressure you are applying.

I suggest you cut the number of section passes down to no more than 3 in each direction and inspect. See how that works for you and go from there.

I normally wouldn't go 5 passes in each direction without inspecting unless I knew for sure that I absolutely needed that many section passes. What if you already had the area corrected in 2 or 3? The extra passes aren't necessary. You are just unnecessarily removing paint.

Another thing you may want to try is lighting up the pressure on the last few passes.

Thanks, I will try that next time I get some free time. I was using speed have and applying moderate pressure. But, I will try not working the product as much next time.
