My V2 just came in for my bday and I just have one more question before I get to practicing this weekend! I understand the the V2 has a slow start-up. Is that was causes it to make an interesting noise when starting up? Also, my backing plate was offset to the left when I attached it, did i do something wrong when putting it on or does this even matter? Thanks!

Re: V2 just came in...one more question!
You should try to center your pad to the backing plate as closely as possible. What do you mean a strange noise when starting up? It should just sounds like the DA when it is on lower speeds, just ramping up in speed. Can you describe us the noise?
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.

Since the movement of the speed is in oscilation the Spindle is not centered in the middle like a rotary but slightly moved from it to oscilate.

PS.
The noise is just something nnormal from the machine. If it sounds like gears running together.. then its okRyan's Auto Detailing, S.A

Thanks!Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
