GG Pad Washer System

For those of you that use/have used/know about the Pad Washer from GritGuard:

From doing searches I see that most have had luck using an apc instead of a designated pad cleaner as a cleaning agent. Does spritzing the pad before using the pad washer suffice? Or, do you add an apc to the water mixture in the bucket?

Spritz the pad. Only clean water in the bucket. I had a GG Pad Washer and it was awesome. I need to buy another.
