Is really a big deal if I use some 6.5 inch pads on a DA that has a 5'' conterweight?

I don't think you will notice a difference. I bought the 6 inch counterweight and I couldn't notice anything different in the way the polisher performed. I don't think very many people have switched the weights, and everyone gets good results with that combo. -

Nope, no problem at all. In fact, most people who went through the exercise of changing counterweights report no (or almost no) noticeable change.Michael Stoops
