  • When to use cut pad

So Im thinking about getting a polisher, probably the megs. I want to use it to remove some swirls. Looks like most use the polishing pads, when would you use the burgundy cut pad?

Re: When to use cut pad

On a DA, it is not reccommended to use the W7*** series cutting pads as they are known to haze the paint. They can be used however to remove wax. If you pick up a few ultimate bonnets from ADS you can can put these on the cutting pad and set the DA speed to about 3-4 to remove the wax. The cutting pad is necessary because it is stiff and will not give as much as the W9*** series finishing pads and the W8*** series polishing pads.

+1. This is the only way I use the cutting pad with the d/a.
