  • Might be for me.

So I am thinking of pickup up the Megs or the porter cable. On thing I like about the porter cable is the pad choice with some of the combos out there. Why does meguiars have a 7" pad? Seem pretty large. Wouldnt a smaller pad be less strain on the machine and cut faster? I can only find the meg polisher with the 7" combo kits.

Thinking of what polishes to have on hand, I have swirl X, should I pick up some 105/205 as well? What else? These 2 seem like the bread and butter for any imperfections.

Now for pad choice, I see a lot of talk about lake country, they have a lot more options then the megs ones. Which are better?

You can use our G110v2 with any D/A compatible pad on the market, you don't have to use our Soft Buff 2.0 pads. You'll want to pick up a different backing plate if you plan on using much smaller pads, though. But don't let the 7" diameter pad fool you. We've used it on hundreds of vehicles with all sorts of paint systems and a huge range of products and we get fantastic results.

Look through any of the threads showing pictures from Saturday Classes or Thursday Night Open Garages and everything you see has been done with these pads.
