  • Holograms....

I attacked my wife's car with a rotery and I created a hologram hell on her car. Is there any way I can remove them with a DA? I have a PC 7424XP with Megs cutting pad, polishing pad, and a finishing pad. I also have 105, 205, and NXT2.0.

Should I use the cutting pad with 105 and then follow it up with 205 on a polishing pad? All of this using the DA.

or is it a bad idea to use the cutting pad on a DA?

    Jason.

    Hi, Jason!

According my experiences "The least aggressive method to get job done" still works - I can recommend M205 on polishing pad, if it will not remove all holograms, continue with cutting pad and in the last case use M105 in the same pad procedure...

...but I still think that there is a lot of more gently products before M105 - for example in M8x line M83 (M85 is not working with DA)

I believe Meguiar's recommendation is not to use the cutting pad on the DA at all. If people do it successfully, they really know what they are doing, using the right liquids, pressure, setting, etc. What can happen is the pad can have more cut than the DA can take out, so you get hazing.

For something as light as holograms, 205 on a polishing pad should work, if not, I would recommend moving up in aggressiveness by going to 105 on a polishing pad, maybe kick the speed up a notch on the DA, use it longer, with more pressure, one way or another it should work without using the cutting pad.

Thank you for the info. I will stay away from the Cutting pad.
