Just got it today. I proceded to run around the house screaming in joy followed up by opening the box. Do I have to do anything else except attach the backing plate or do I put on the plate, attach a pad, and start to learn?

What I'm trying to say is, you might be a little nervous about using the G110V2 on your car, but don't worry about doing bad things to your paint with your new V2. It really is safe, even for a beginner.

Re: Just got my V2 today!.....now what do i do?
Alrighty, I tried it out on half of my dad's black Honda Pilot hood and all I have to say is..................HOLY ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used it for 10 minutes and I will never go back to polishing by hand (except for the areas the polisher cannot reach of course). Anyone looking to get one, DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Tedrow's Detailing

Re: Just got my V2 today!.....now what do i do?
Actually, I think I might have to return it..................................because it will make me spend too much time outside working on my car!
Eventually I will run out of cars in my family to detail though. I can hear the news story now "The Polisher Fiend strikes again.....a family walked out one morning to find all of their cars perfectly detailed." Then you see me walking back to my house picking up all the extension cord I used with a wheelbarrow of supplies! lolTedrow's Detailing

I just got my V2 a little over a month ago, and I've used it on several cars. I had zero experience with a DA or rotary, and the only thing I've done that even comes close to any damage was my neighbor's car had some scratches on rear bumper that had been replaced and repainted a few months ago. It was a junkyard bumper cover, and the body shop had given it a "scuff and shoot" over the original red paint. Since then, someone had clipped the right rear corner, putting some minor and some deeper scratches in it- typical parking lot "oops". I went over it with the V2, some 105 (in hindsite, I probably should have tried 205 first), and a yellow Softbuff 2.0 polishing pad, and it went down through part of the scratched repaint, exposing a small spot of the red factory paint on the bumper.

It really is safe, even for a beginner.I haven't gotten a practice hood yet and the v2 is being delivered in the morning, so I probably won't get the practice hood after all. I'm just a tad nervous because I will be working on my Dad's 1951 Mercury (base/clear coat black) first thing..that's basically what I bought it for. I have used an orbital (aka: wax spreader) before and it seems to me that the DA is similar, only much, MUCH faster.
Gosh, I hope I'm as excited as coopers23 when I finally use mine!!! No doubt I will indeed love it!!!Kyla | 2006 Z71 Chevy Tahoe | 1986 Chevy Blazer dragster | 1951 Mercury coupe
