Not asking if Meguiars would recommend it, but technically speaking, if I applied some Meguiars Polish or a light compound to the pad, then added some liquid wax, would I be creating my own version of a cleaner wax?

I doubt it. I think the formulation is a bit more complex than that. You can try it if you wish, but I don't think anybody on here would recommend it.Shane

Ok I've been referred to as an "OP" on here before, what is an "OP"? I need to know if I'm being insulted or not!
Anyways, good point Mike, the cleaner is meant to be wiped off wet and the wax is supposed to dry first so mixing the two together might not be a good idea.
