  • How to remove NXT wax from LC CCS pads?

    Hello Guys!

I have recently gotten Porter Cable XP and have been experimenting with my new toy the last three weekends and with type of pads and products I use.
While the Swirl X seems to come of easily from the Lake Country pads with the spray remover product that I bought along with my PC machine, the NXT wax just does not. I have even tried soaking them in dishwasher detergent, and I can still see the wax on the pads I used it on. I imagine this means the wax is really good, but how can I get it out of my pads?

    Thanks!!

I do as you did and soak them in warm water with dawn dishwashing detergent. After a couple of hours I start to knead the pads with my fingers and flatten them with the palm of my hand under the water. It does take some time, but be patient and keep at it.

Spray them down with Super Degreaser. It will eat up the NXT.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

I agree with clearly coated. Soak them, then work the wax out of the pads.

Dawn Power Dissolve is one of the fastest wax/glaze/sealant eaters I've used so far. Its scary strong stuff so make sure you wear gloves or any bits you get on your hand will dry out. Just spray, let dwell for 10 min, then agitate and rinse. It usually kills it in the first use
