  • Got my G110V2 yesterday!

And it's supposed to be 16 deg C today, so when I get off work, it's go-time!

I've never used a DA before, so I'm excited to get started. I've also got 3 yellow SoftBuff 2.0 pads, 1 red one, and 2 black ones. I've got a Porsche Cayenne with some swirls to take care of!

Is there anything anyone might want a review of before I start? Here's what I'll be using:

    - wash with Gold Class and MF mitt
    - dry
    - clay with blue clay
    - either Deep Crystal paint cleaner or SwirlX, haven't decided yet
    - Deep Crystal polish
    - NXT 2.0

Looking forward to doing the work!

Talking about your pads, the red one, if it is a Meguiars pad it is a 7000 series pad which is not recomended for a DA. All you will probably need are you polishing pads and finishing pads.
On your porsce if it were mine I would try my first test spot with your yellow polishing pad and your swirlX if those are your only two products. It will probably leave your paint nearly defect or (swirl) free.

Like mako stated the W7207 cutting pad isn't recommended for use with the DA but it is for using it to remove wax, but only if you've got the 7'' 2.0 micro-fiber bonnet and put over the W7207 cutting pad and when using it this way use speed 5 on your G110. Makes removing wax alot faster not to mention does a great job!

I have seen recommendations of using the red cutting pad with the DA for RIDS but only to treat the affected area.

I have also found it to do a great job with a little PlastX on cloudy headlights.

I used the yellow polishing pad for both cars. I'm probably going to use the SwirlX on the Porsche next time. I used the DC1 and it was really runny and sloppy. Is it not supposed to be used with a DA?

In any case, the Astra got UC (still not defect free, but dang near!).

So use the red pad with Plastix on headlights? That's a good idea. Will they not be left cloudy afterwards?
