  • Handle Off G110v2??

Is it just me or do you seem to get better results or at least more constant rotation of the pad when the handle is left off?

I installed mine and had used it a few times with the handle on and seemed to bog down a lot. I assumed it was just my technique as I developed a feel for how much pressure to put on the machine since I'm new to using the DA.

The other day, one of of the bolts that holds the handle fell off while I was working and so rather than put it back on, I decided to take the handle off just to see how different it was.

Using what I think roughly the same amount of pressure I noticed less bogging and more constant rotation which led to improved polishing.

I was just curious if that has happened to anyone else too....

The G110 is deff better without the handle..the vibrations are also less. I love it without the handle

Good to know, I just ordered one from ADS and can't wait to try it and compare to the PCXP.

You should be blessed sir, this is post 1k for me! hahah jk, but removing the handle is my advice too, i remember Mike P teaching a class w/o it, showing that resting your whole hand on top helps get even pad to paint contact. Thats my 2 cents

I use my Porter Cable 7424XP without the handle and usually with the right hand.

Maybe YOU should feel blessed the staff hasn't given you the boot yet

Yes, I did notice it felt more even and the products seemed to layer more evenly as well.

I never liked using the handle. Like it better without.

                  Re: Handle Off G110v2??

Handle on or off is totally a personal preference. With the PC7424 and the G100 most people removed the stick handle and used the tool that way. We never really cared for the stick handle either as too many people would tend to lean on it, tipping the pad a bit on edge and stopping rotation. That's why with the G110 we moved to a bale or "D" shaped handle, which allows for direct pressure on top of the pad. While that is definitely an improvement, so many people had gotten used to going handle-less that they continue to do so even with the G110v2.

In this case it's more of a different rotation
