  • Meguiar's Polisher.

I'm thinking about buying the new G110v2.

What have is SwirlX,Colorx and Ultimate compound. Will these products be good to use with the polisher?

I don't have a show car or collectors car. This will be used on couple of daily cars.

    Thank you.

Yes, those products would work fine.

ColorX is a cleaner/wax though, you might want to pick up some Nxt 2.0 to use a regular wax for after SwirlX, or to top the ColorX.

pick one up, you will love it! I'm in the same situation as you! I picked up one and 6 pads and 105, 205, and M21. My car looks great and its very easy to use! I picked it all up from ADS

just think if you pick one up someone will buy it on E-Bay for $115+ if you don't think it's for you!

Very nice machine. You'll be glad you bit the bullet when you start working on your car.

Just my two cents worth, definately a great purchase you can make. I was a little sceptical at first but after chatting with other fellow members on this forum and viewing various video's on how to use this machine, that gave me all the confidence i needed. Last time i detailed my car it took me roughly 6 hours just on the paintwork. i did that by hand and i could not get the heavier scratches or swirls out. But after the first application with the Meguiar's machine i was able to do so with no effort! Go for it mate!

I too recently bought a new g110v2. I think it was an awsome investment. Using the Ultimate Compound was real easy. I saw where a person on here was going to use the polish and wax with the g110v2 to get practice with it. It was great advice, my wife's washer and dryer have never been so clean. She has made me stop because when she starts up the machines, everything winds up on the floor.

The tool and products you are considering buying are fine for use on daily drivers, but only if:

                • You actually care about your daily drivers
                • You want them to shine like a show car
                • You want a safe and effective way to get them shining like a show car
                • You aren't afraid of having guys with actual show cars getting upset with you because your daily drivers look better than their show cars

It looks like I'm going to buy one.

Would I use the w8006 polishing pads for Ultimate coumpound and swirlx?

W8006 or the new Soft Buff 2.0 W8207 (machine washable), your choice. You should pick up at least a couple of these for defect correction. Also get either the W9006 or W9207 finishing pads for wax application.

And remember, speed 5 and moderate pressure for defect correction (UC/W8xxx pad) and speed 3 with light pressure for wax application (wax/W9xxx pad).

Work your paint cleaner in small areas at a time and wipe off before it dries.

                    Do a test spot.
