Yeah, funny how NOBODY from Meguiars has chimed in on This thread.

I was saying the same thing to myself I hope there is a fix instead of replacing the unit with another one that will eventually do the same thing.Reliability is very important.

You have to realize that anything man made (or anything for that matter these days) is subject to be defective at any given time, and sometimes it happens (there's no way of knowing if something will be perfect or last forever). Just know that if a problem does occur, that customer service will take care of you in the best possible way they can. Rather than complain about it in a thread, call them at 1-800-347-5700.

Guys, we do apologize for any issues or inconvenience you might be having with a new buffer. Please know that we stand behind these tools 100% and will take care of you one way or another. You should always start by calling the Customer Care Center at 800.347.5700 or posting in the Customer Service Hotline section of the forum as any post there will automatically generate an email to the Customer Care Manager.

This is also NOT a widespread issue at all. In fact, the ONLY cases I've heard about it are right here in this thread.

As imacarnut points out, nothing man made is ever going to be 100% perfect - that's what warranties are for. Heck, my own well respected name brand rotary buffer died after three uses. It wouldn't spin beyond what sounds like 200 rpm, and not a healthy 200 rpm at that!

Bottom line, like I said, we'll stand behind the product and take care of you.

Not too many companies stand behind their products and tools like Meguiar's. Thank you Michael and Meguiars!
