Re: What's the difference between these backing plates?
The W67DA backing plate replaced the W64DA a couple of years ago - it's a difference construction process so it's more durable and lower in profile.
If you're using our Soft Buff 2.0 then you really want our W68DA backing plate. It not only drops perfectly into the recess on the back of these pads, but the flexibility at the edge provides excellent support as the pad matches body contours, providing a more uniform and consistent cut in these areas.Michael Stoops

Murr, you may find the W68DA to be a bit too large in diameter for use on our earlier pads, or on our competitors 5.5" or 6.5" pads. If the velcro backing on the pad is smaller in diameter than the backing plate, and it likely will be in those cases, you run the risk of damaging the back of the foam or worse, bumping the edge of the backing plate against trim or a body panel.
And ClearyCoated was correct in stating the actual diameter of the W67DA (and W64DA as well) as 4.75". Good eye, John!!Michael Stoops

And the W68DA backing plate are good for the 7 inch soft buff 2.0 pads?Michael Stoops
