For Christmas I got two polishers. A 10 inch craftsman, and a 6 inch black and decker. They came with cheap pads that don't really do their job too well. Does meguiars make cutting and polishing pads in those sizes? If not who does? this is important, however, I have time: Spring is a looooong time away!! Links would be nice. thanks!

Re: Meguiars pad sizes?
I have limited knowledge so perhaps its obvious but are these orbital polishers and/or rotary? The 10" seems like it's an orbital but I'm not sure about the 6".
Pads come in many different sizes. If memory serves me correctly, Megs makes 6.5" pads as well as 7" pads. They will also be coming out with 4" pads in a few weeks.
If one of those machines is a rotary, then you can use any size pad as it has plenty of power. You just want to check the size of the backing plate need to be hook and loop and smaller then the pad).

Re: Meguiars pad sizes?
Do those buffers look anything like these.
If soyou cant use pads on those buffers. Those are your average random orbital buffers and not the Dual Action buffers use to correct paint. They are only really good for applying and removing wax. Though they can be use to correct paint they are not as effect as DA polishers(G110, PCXP, Griots..etc.)

I'd go with either a pad kit from Lake County or a Polishing and Finishing pad from Megs. If pads from LC, I'd recommend at least an orange (for cutting), two whites and perhaps a red. If you can, get 2 orange, 2 whites and 1 red. That would be a good starting point. You can make due with 1 of each. Pick up a few microfiber towels and you are good (as long as you have some products for paint correction).
I like the Meg pads over the LC pads but the LC pads end up being about 1/2 the cost. I like that the Megs pads are much thicker and they seem to work product better. But many (most?) people use the LC pads. I think because there are more choices.

That sounds very interesting because I noticed exactly the opposite, for me LC pads are thicker than Megs, and the hydro-techs are even better IMO.
I like the LC pads for reliability. I don't know what happened with my Megs pads (in my w8006 and w9006 velcro came completely off, my hand pads from w0004 packets scratch my paint) the only good at the moment is my w9207 whereas my LC pads all of them work great, no complaints. It's strange for me when I read how many people seem to be happy with their megs pads. Maybe bad luck with meguiars for me or I got them from a bad batch (The ones imported by Denko meguiars.com.mx) and I had no guarantee. Another point in terms of cost, at least in Mexico, the LCs are more expensive than Meguiars (the most expensive pads are the 3M)
