  • got a PC7424-What else?

My gf bought a 7424 original for me for Xmas. She overpaid through her nose for it too...poor girl! Anyway, is this mahine safe for me to be using or do the features of newer ones make this obsolete?

In addition, what else do I need to perform swirl removal and personal car maintenaince?

ok, I read around the forum. I got an idea.

    My remaining question is:

    1) is the 7424 powerfull enough to move around the 7" pads?
2)what should I get to clean the pads?
    3) what the hell is the white pad that came with the unit!?

      Yes, it is safe.

But if the prices are the same, go newer.

      1. Yeah, it will work.

      2. If you get the washable pads, your washing machin is ok, or go by hand.

      3. Who knows.... Wouldnt use it.

I would stock up on pads and 105/205. Stuff like that. Never tried the white pd. No answer for you.

          You are not alone.
I figured/hoped my 7424 would have a more forgiving learning curve and I can upgrade with more experience. Going to try it out in the Spring.
Thanks for the post: Going to get the recommended 105/205.

            so

            1) No need for a seperate cleaner for your pads?
            2) I have swirlX, Ultimate compund, and DC2. Im going to use that first before buying more product

              1) If you're using Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 7" pads, just throw them in the washer with any quality liquid laundry detergent, then toss them in the dryer. Just avoid fabric softener or dryer sheets and you'll be fine.
              2) That really should take care of the vast majority of your issues. Ultimate Compound is incredibly effective and based on M105 technology but in a more user friendly formulation. You really shouldn't need anything else right now.
