Like the title says, my friend is wanting to get the 6" Griot's DA. I've searched around and there is very little out there review wise. Putting aside that he could get a different machine, does anyone know much about the machine? It has specs mirroring the 7423xp and G110v1, with the same handle as the G110. Just looking for someone who maybe has toyed with one or owns one. Thanks.

Korner-Is the one you have the newest one they have?
Mark-He knows about the G100v2, but he's trying to stay under or right at $200 while getting an assortment of pads at the same time-Kyle

Re: My friend wants a Griot's 6" DA...need input
I have Griot's V2 (one that came out just recently). I tried it against my G110 V1 side by side for several hours. I liked Griot's V2 enough that between it and G110 V1 I kept Griot's and sold G110.
Of course that says nothing about how it would stack up against G110 V2.

Make sure that your friend is getting the Griot's V2 dual action.
The version 2 variant comes with a 7-Amp 850watt motor, making it possibly the most powerful dual action buffer in the automotive market. Because unlike the Flex, which has a fixed forced-rotation gear, the Griot's may be able to easily out rotate the Flex dual action polisher under certain load conditions. From eyeballing my own DA, I have seen my PC XP rotate faster than 480rpm at speed 6 with certain pads and products and high pressure. I am sure the Griot V2 will rotate even faster.
Since this is a Meguiar's forum, I must urge you to urge your friend to seriously consider the G110 v2 nstead!

also, the new griot hd (aka v2) has a heavy duty 16 gauge, 25 foot power cord hardwired into the polisher. The longer cord is more convenient than an extension cord and it is gauged to deliver maximum power to the polisher for safe, efficient operation.

gsxr-I saw that, but something seems odd with that., checking with what is on the Griot's Website. In fact, that part about the 16 gauge cord isn't listed on their website. Plus the rest of the write-up on it talks about it being engineered ans still has the 10' cord.
V1 is
And v2 is
And only Amazon had the V1 in stock, everyone else has the V2 but makes no mention on the HD other than AutoGeek.-Kyle

Care to expand upon this? Why a "game changer". I mean, other than the change which allows power to ramp up if it is bogging down, it there something else that I'm missing with V2?
I have a G110 V1 and didn't think the changes to be all that significant but maybe I'm missing something.----------------------------------

Check closely as the Griot new DA comes with a standard cord and a extended 25' cord and the latter is at an extra cost as sold at AG. Just a heads up. Personally I think I'll wait to see a comparision test between the new griots and the new Meg's unit.I see also that Ads is taking pre-orders on the new Meg's unit for $149.00 .

Re: My friend wants a Griot's 6" DA...need input
hopefully the gremlins that plagued the G110V1 won't be present, I like the Griots or the PCXP units, the Griots machine is rated more powerful than the G110 1.0 and the PCXP is below the G110, not sure on how they rate with the G110 2.0.
But, having more power doesn't mean better results, proper pad/speed/technique/product is the key.Philippians 2:14 - Do all things without grumbling or questioning,
