i through mine away, compared to the megs pad it is really junk, but i did use it to polish the top of my washer and dryer first to get a feel for the pc before i started on the car
the wahser and dryer really shine up nice with some #80

I agree.... There are some good uses for them but its not waxing your vehicle.

        Hey,

I agree with the others. I would only use the Meguiar's pads.

How does the Porter Cable white pad compare? Is it too soft or what? For sure, the hook and loop attachment of a better pad set would be much nicer.

I got a PC 7424 as a Christmas present. It would have been a G-100, what with the holiday deal, but the wife picked up on my hints for a PC before Mike announced the special. With only online retailers as a purchase option, I didn't want to be ungrateful and put her through the trouble of returning it.

Will be getting the Meguiar pads as soon as I can, but inspired by Scottlee and his washing machine, I waxed down my house AC outside unit with ColorX. Did a good job and no, I don't have an pictures

The pad that came with the 7336 is fine, used it to apply NXT. Not being hook and loop you can run it up 6 on the buffer without worrying out delaminating the hook and loop system.

Check out this thread on Autopia, aparently the white pad can be dangerous!

I felt this needed a thread so others would start some. Since my truck has the aerodynamics of a large shoebox with wheels not much for me to say other

i saw the 7336sp for $99.97 at lowes today. i was just if i need anything else to go with it before i can use a meguiars pad with it because the backing thing looks a bit different compared to the G100A

Sheesh, guys. Everything is good for SOMETHING. I've found the white pad that comes with the PC branded versions to be perfect for mounting microfiber bonnets.

The "backing" in the G100 photo is the Meguiar hook-n-loop backing plate. You can buy that with the part of a set with pads DA Velcro Buffing System or seperately Dual-Action Polisher Backing Plates (note the photo shows the pads, not the plate). The Porter Cable pad has the plate and pad glued together. Both PC or Maguiar pad/plate have a threaded fastener that screws into a nut on the machine. So you can get the 7336 and have the same as the G100 after you pick up the Maguiar pads, minus the lifetime warranty and one plate and W8006 pad included.
