  • Got my pads..but

So i ordered some new pads for my pc7424. I got them today and realized I ordered the wrong size pads

I ordered the 6.5'' pads, when the counterweight on my PC says use only 5.5'' pads. I guess I need a 5.5'' counterweight? Can I still use the 6.5'' pads?

I don't think there should be a problem with using a 5.5" counter weight with your 6.5" pads. I think two out of ten people, at most, change their counter weights for different pads. At least I do not do that.

I use the 6.5" pads with the smaller counterweight, and a 5" backing plate. Having the extra cushion around the edges helps on certain contours and some other areas. I like it.

I wouldn't worry about the counterweight, I've used both the 5.5" & 6.5" pads with no issues.

Tonight when I am done detailing my car, how can I clean my dirty pads so that I can use them tomorrow?

When I'm done, I toss them into a bucket of soapy water (usually palmolive) and let them sit for 20 minutes or so. Then I pull them out, squeeze them out, and work in a little palmolive by hand. Then I hit them with a strong hose from the back side first, working center out. Then from the front side in the same fashion. Then I squeeze them out, and let them air dry. I'm curious to hear other peoples' methods.

you should be good with your pads. ive even used 3-4" pads on my g110...

i clean my pads by tossing in a buccket with water. put some dawn soap on em n masage each one... then i put the grit guard in my other bucket and start pressing and turning them against the grit to remove built in product. works great for me.. then put em back on the g110 and spin em at speed 5 and 6 to release more water. then let em air dry for a bit then place em in a plastic baggy not sealed

Like has been said, the counterweight should not make a difference.

Here is a post from way back (nearly 5 years) that talks about that very question.
