Porter Cable 7424, backing plate?

I might be getting my hands on the old PC 7424, My G110 is now equipped with the new W68 backing plate.

Can I put on my old W67 on the old style PC?

I have a couple guys helping me now so 1 G110 isnt gonna cut it. A couple old PCs will work for spreading out wax and light correction work.


Thoughts on the backing plate?

W67DA will work on the older Porter Cable. Any backing plate that works on your G110 will work on the 7424.

yep,

the W67DA is a newer improved from the W64DA.

If your using the 2.0 pads, may want to invest in the W68DA for the 7424, I tried the W67DA with the new pads and didn't really like it at all.....up to you though

I have both backing plates for my PC and I prefer the w68 better of course, but the 67 works.

thanks guys, I guy I know has a couple for sale and I was thinking about getting them so I have at least more than one machine on hand.

Even knowing that the failure rate of the backing plates is low. I always like to have at least 1 extra, just in case.

The W67DA has a much lower failure rate than its predecessor. The W67 has a design that is essentially the same as most others sold on the market. The old one is terrible.
