  • If I buy a flex....

If I was to buy a flex, could I use my pads and backing plates for my PC? I have several backing plates, 1 3.5", 2 w67da's and a w68da. I have 4" And 6.5" CCS pads as well as many soft buff 2.0 pads. I'm thinking of asking for a flex for my bday but was making sure I didn't have to ask for other things too.

Pads, yes (at least the 6.5")...backing plates, no.

you'd have to switch to the Edge system to use different pad sizes on the Flex

The Flex will accept pads 6.5" or larger on its standard backing plate. Some people have used the 5.5" pads but I would warn against this as there is no safety margin whatsoever. The backing plate goes right to the edge of the pad or a bit over.

If you get the Flex, get the PAC or ADS spec beveled edge pads to use in tighter areas and keep your PC for use in all the other spots with your existing pads. If you buy the Edge system for the Flex you'll need both the Edge adaptor and new Edge pads...

Thanks for clarifying that Bounty. I forgot to mention he'd need the Edge pads too.

Well then at least I can use my current 6.5" CCS and soft buff pads . I was hoping I didn't have to go buy an entire new supply of pads

The Flex kit from ADS comes with the Flex, premium carrying bag, and 6 ADS-spec pads of your choice for $309.....can't beat that. Also, if you're getting the Flex, the SoftVib side handle is a must have. Ads is one of the only distributors who sells it as an add-on as they no longer are shipping with the Flex unit itself...
