  • Old version M105 on DA

Can I use the old M105 with a DA? I know the new version is listed as being DA compatible, just wondering how compatible the older version is.

Re: Old version M105 on DA

While some have had success with the original verison of M105 on a DA, we do not recommend it.

There will be more times than not that the performance will not be up to your expectations, and therefore, the not recommended tag. Keep in mind, it was designed to be used by rotary and wool pad originally.

With so many wanting to use it with a DA, that is why we reformulated it (new M105) to be compatible with a DA. As you know, the best way to tell if you have "old" or "new" is to look a the back label. It will show how it is applied. The new will show a D/A, the old will not.

Oh, I know its the old version because I bought it before the new version came out. I'll just keep using on the rotary until I run out.

Well, ummm... maybe give it a shot first? Using the old 105 with a DA will not harm the paint. If you had the old M105 in the first place, you probably have the other necessary tools (such as a rotary and a wool pad) to correct any problems created.
