  • How well does M205 correct?

Well we all know that M205 is a finishing polish, primarily for use after an aggressive polish or compound such as M105.

But how well does M205 perform on its own? can it remove moderate swirls and scratches on its own when used with say a G110 and a polishing pad? or is it best suited for finishing only?

I am preparing for a full detail with the G110 on my Silverado in the begining of July, The paint isnt too hard, its on the softer side.
I have the sample size of M205 from ADS so its just enough for my truck i would imagine.

    thanks again.

It is definately something you would use as a test spot, to see if it removes the defects.

I've used the 205 only and got amazing results! And that 12oz sample should last several (prob 5-6) vehicles

I did a full correction on my Focus several months ago using A G110 and M205 with a 5.5 inch polishing pad for half the car, and then a rotary, yellow 2.0 polishing pad and M205 for the other half.

I got equally flawless results on the entire car.

Of course, most paints aren't quite that user friendly, but it goes to show it is possible.

Agreed. Worked awesome on a 1959 Firebird that was repainted but did absolutely nothing on a Mercedes.

Used via rotary, I've found it to remove moderate to light swirls very well with a LC white pad or Meg's 8006 pad. With a finishing pad, like LC black or Meg's 9006, it will remove only the lightest swirls, ime

I used M205 with a LC white pad and a Flex and it removed just about everything from my white 2006 Trailblazer. I only had light-to-medium swirls before, and all that was left were a couple scratches that I plan to work out by hand later (they aren't deep and can only be seen in very direct sunlight.)

pics of said 59 firebird? must be worth alot since they didn't start making them until 67

or was it a typo and you meant 69?
