My New DA G110 only works on Speed 6

so i bought the power kit some month ago when it was on sale.
i decided to begin a full detail on my black lincoln ls.

washed it, clayed it, and pulled out the da ready to do some swirlx 2.0 action.
but i turned it on and it wouldnt come on. until i set it to max speed 6. then it ran.

is there something im missing on why its not running on lower speeds?
do i have a dud?

well, i went on and swirlx 2.0'd the whole car on speed setting 6 using all the recommended advice here. came out real nice. i wanna do the hood again though.

i wanted to to run a speed 3 or so for tech wax 2.0
but i had to do that by hand.. anyways.. my first go around with the da was interesting, took alot of muscle and strength doing side to side and up and down on the sides of the car.. whoa, thats a workout!!

if its a dud, its no problem... as i probably wont do the car fully again for a while.. is their replacement program good? can i just send them the DA instead of sending the whole kit and case, etc??? i dont even know if i can find the reciept. :p

few questions..
can you overdo swirlx? I gave the car the treatment as mentioned above with the 8006 soft buff pad, then wiped the residue off with a microfiber. swirls are gone but under light theres horizontal and vertical hairline scratches.

im wondering if this was from residue wipe down, or the process of applying wax by hand.

i wanna redo the car again, this time taking pictures..
and i wanna do the swirlx + cleaner this time.. as well as using the DA for applying and finishing techwax2.0

i can use a fresh softbuff for swirlx, finish with a finishing pad, another fresh softbuff for cleaner, another fresh finishing pad, and another fresh softbuff for wax, then finnally a fresh finishing pad. Is this overkill or the proper way to do it? Or can i use the finishing pad for each step? I wanna throw some glaze on there as well, but dont know what speed setting and if i gotta finish pad that too.

just wondering if doing too many applications of swirlx will damage the clearcoat as well.

What is your purpose of adding the cleaner?

To help finish down a little nicer if only using the Swirl-X, switch to a 9006 pad and do the car again, not the cleaner..
